Alright, y’all, for the most part, when people make a roleplay site, people have a pre-written book to go by. Seeing as to how I lack a book that everyone coming to this site has read, I will give you a bit of background before I set up the plot. Whether or not you read the history is up to you, but you may be a bit lost if you don’t. Also, some of you may disagree with some things mentioned, but please finish reading before you pass judgment. Note: Any of the below information is subject to change at anytime. If something major is changed, I will make an announcement.

History

At the birth of Taros, there were three races: Elves, Humans, and Dwarves. Before the Realms came into existence, the elves lived in the forest to the east now known as Darkwood, the dwarves lived in the mountains to the north now known as Shadowcrest, and the humans lived in the desert to the south now known as Ebonvoid. After the formation of the Realms, the dwarves mostly stayed to the north, as the elves stayed to the east, but humans spread throughout the Realms.

After a century or so, a cache of all sorts of books was found at the heart of Star Realm at the heart of Taros. Among the books was a trilogy titled ‘The Lord of the Rings,’ a series called ‘Firekeeper saga,’ and a collection of verses describing the life of a ‘messiah.’ Along with those verses was a tome containing all of the teachings of the Catholic Church. The head of the Church was centered in Star Realm. At one time, most of the citizens of Taros were Catholic, but then different groups branched off from the Church and formed their own faiths loosely based on the Church, but none with the same teachings.

Three hundred years passed, and a new government arose in Fire Realm that was slowly trying to dim the light of knowledge. The government spread throughout Taros leaving only the Catholic Church to fight it. Anyone who claimed Catholicism if caught would be persecuted. The Church went underground, moving in secret, in an effort to combat the force. Eventually the oppressive government was defeated and the Sky Academy was created to teach every trade from carpenter to blacksmith to merchant to musician. The Academy was created to ensure that learning would not be lost in the future. The Catholic Church gained more believers, and grew and still remains the largest faith in Taros.

Over the next two hundred years, Sky Academy grew, and there were seven smaller schools to arise throughout the Realms, one for each of the Realms with the main Academy in Star Realm. In that same one hundred fifty years, the first human Fëanturi came into existence, the leadership of the Athan changed hands from a dwarf to a human, the shapeshifters cut themselves off from other races and claimed Shapeshifter as their race, and the Ruindil gained an elite force of trained guards.

During the following hundred years, small battles began to break out between the Athan, the Ruindil, and the Fëanturi. The Shapeshifters sided with the Fëanturi, the elves and dwarves avoided the conflict, and the humans were caught in the middle. Distance prevented the Athan and the Ruindil from war, and the Hawks refused to allow the Fëanturi to go to war with either the Athan or the Ruindil. The disputes at the center of the battles ranged from obtaining certain pieces of land to defeating resistance to a certain group. Each race, with the exception of Shapeshifter, had its rebel groups which sided with the other races, but these groups never allowed themselves to be openly known. The rebel groups main purpose was to overthrow the current leader of their race, but the reasons for doing so were often quite different.

Plot

The battles between the Fëanturi, Athan and Ruindil grew more frequent. The Catholic Church and the Wizards were the voice of reason throughout Taros. Even though the Church was not as large as it had been, it was still the primary religion of Taros.

Power within the Fëanturi was about to switch to the ruling Hawk’s oldest heir, but before the new Hawk could take the throne, some members of the rebel group formed a council and forced the Hawk to abdicate the throne. The Council was attempting to gain control of all of the Fëanturi; they believed the Hawks were too lenient, and the Council wished to fight back against the Athan and the Ruindil. The Hawks and Panthers went into hiding far from the Council’s reach. Other Clans still loyal to the Hawks also went into hiding to wait for their time to break the Council. These Fëanturi began to hide their pendants with the Clan symbol on it. The Hawks, and those loyal to them, stay completely out of the fighting between the races.

The Ruindil leader was increasing the number of Ruindil to be trained. He was building an army in an effort to exterminate the Athan, and to a lesser extent, the Fëanturi. Some members of the rebel group wove their way through the ranks of the army. They reached the top levels of the hierarchy and wait for all preparations to be completed.

The Athan leader searched for as many different abilities as he could find. He was gathering his own forces to combat the rising threat from the Ruindil and Fëanturi Council. With the help of a select few abilities, a few Athan rebels gained the leader’s trust.

The Shapeshifters share habits with their animal form; hunters act like hunters when not in animal form, those who do not hunt are more peaceful. Even the elves, who have a predator's animal form, eat meat. The Shapeshifters do not fight among themselves, the elves and humans, because they realize that a major fight within the race could prove disastrous for them since it could lead to them being exposed. The Shapeshifters stay hidden from general knowledge, but Lyall does have contact with the Hawk. Due to the efforts of the Fëanturi Council, most citizens of Taros grew to fear the Shapeshifters. As a result, any Shapeshifters who do gather information for Lyall and the Hawk rarely show their animal form.

A great battle is brewing in the near future, and sides must be chosen. Only time can tell what the outcome will be.

Allegiances

The Hawks, and those loyal to them are trying to end the war without having all the fighting. You know, using words and whatnot.

The Fëanturi Council is trying to end the war, but more through like assassin-y type tactics (Not that we will have assassins on here). The Council is more into like secret fighting.

The Athan, meaning mainly the leader, are trying to gain support and people because they believe that they are the only ones worthy of power because they have their mutant-like abilities.

The Athan rebels are trying to overthrow the current Athan leader (he needs a name still) because they disagree with the belief stated above, even though they too have said abilities.

The Ruindil, again meaning the leader, are trying to... expand their range for like teleporting and stuff, and as such are trying to gain as much land as they can so that they can teleport anywhere in Taros.

The Ruindil rebels, while also wishing to see as much as they can, are not so forward with their intent. They are mainly travelers who are not trying to take land.

The Shapeshifters are allied to the Hawks, though there are a few who go there own way.

The elves and dwarves are no where near the conflict, whereas the humans are stuck in every aspect of it.

~~~
This is very basic, but I think it will work for the time being.
